BlazeAid Volunteering Opportunity Gippsland April 2020

26/02/2020 By Wayne Dyson Leave a Comment

We live in a world of great contrasts! How did you feel as you watched the news of the bushfires? I know that I felt horrible, sipping on a latte and knowing that many of my fellow countrymen had lost everything through the bushfires.

Immediately BlazeAid volunteering came to my mind. How would you cope if you too had to rebuild your life and start all over again like some families in East Gippsland have to do?

Rebuild A Community At Easter

Now that the firemen have extinguished all fires, the focus is fully on rebuilding. Sure, giving money is great, and I encourage others to do that; but, being a practical hands-on person, I wanted to get shoulder to shoulder with these people.

So now I have registered with BlazeAid and I plan to take a group of volunteers with me to East Gippsland from April 9 to 22.

If you too feel that you’d like to actively engage in making a difference for a brave community, join our team! Already I have several of my cycling and swimming mates coming along to help out. You can only give a hand for a few days or a week? No problem, you are welcome to join us anyway! Every hand counts! Please get in touch with me to get more information. In short, it will be a volunteer experience like no other and you will change lives.

Our biggest and best ‘donation’ is working shoulder to shoulder with those who have lost much.

Volunteering With BlazeAid

BlazeAid is about working alongside rural families who are in genuine need of volunteer assistance to rebuild after natural disasters. Beyond rebuilding many destroyed or damaged fences and structures, BlazeAid volunteers are really helping rebuild lives and communities.

Even if you are not up to labouring duties, there will be lots of domestic duties that will need doing, including just emotionally supporting the very people affected by this tragedy.

To know more about BlazeAid and to register as a volunteer, go to http://www.blazeaid.com.au
Once you have registered, please let me know your registration number. This will enable Blaze Aid to keep track of who is in our group.
