"Passionate People Perform."

Wayne Dyson

What do Kenny, Al Gore and Steve Irwin (his legacy) have in common?

Passion. It is passion not position that leads people. Passion gets the job done. Passionate leaders make a difference in our world. Today, more than ever, the world needs people with passion and the right values.

Good friend and associate Charles Kovess coined the phrase “Passionate People Perform” in his book of that title. Charles identified the common thread of great leaders being their passion for a cause, a worthy challenge to be fought and conquered.

Great leaders have the resolve and steely conviction to fight against impossible odds including the arrogance that they can change a billion people on this earth. Without their passion we would be destined to mediocrity and disaster. Al Gore and global warming, Bono and world poverty, Steve Irwin and preserving wildlife, and even Kenny and his dunnies!

Want to be a leader? Then find a cause. Be like a Jack Russell terrier and don't let go – even when people poo-poo your idea or your passion. Be ruthless, get excited and make a difference. Poo-pooing even got Kenny going!!

In fact without passionate leaders we would all be in the poo!

All the best in pursuing your passion!

Client Corner: Bridgeworks “Skoolz Rulz” Schools Program

What non-sense putting the priority on the 3R's!

What is the point of mastering the 3R's at school if you don't know how to manage relationships or manage money? In our western world, these two skills I believe are poorly taught. Some of the most successful business leaders I come across left school early. They made lots of mistakes but had one only 1 “R” – relationships.

Part of Bridgeworks' vision is to introduce Bridgeworks principles of managing relationships into schools on a National basis. People need to learn early in life that we are different – respecting those differences rather than conflicting. Our Western society naturally produces competition – most of this is healthy as it helps us get smarter and creative. Avoiding the “for me to be right, you must be wrong” syndrome is the dark side of competition. Let's compete against the crime rate, the divorce rate or poverty rather than each other.

Several pilot programs in schools ( Cheltenham Secondary College , Xavier & Haileybury Colleges) have had great feedback in teachers and students working together and helping students understand that they can all be leaders.

Answer: Princess Diana's death.
Question: How come?
Answer: An English princess
With an Egyptian boyfriend
Crashes in a French tunnel,
Driving a German car
With a Dutch engine,
Driven by a Belgian who was drunk
On Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling)
Followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,
On Japanese motorcycles;
Treated by an American doctor,
Using Brazilian medicines.
This is sent to you by an Australian,
Using Bill Gate's technology,
You're probably reading this on your computer
Using Taiwanese chips,
And a Korean monitor,
Assembled by Bangladeshi workers
In a Singapore plant,
Transported by Indian lorry-drivers,
Hijacked by Indonesians,
Unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,
Trucked to you by Mexican illegals . . .

That, good friend, is Globalization

Have a great week and don't forget the breakfast on December 6th.

All the best

Wayne

LEADERSHIP - BUILDING BUSINESS, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY

Leadership Breakfast

with Radio host, Author and High Performance Coach
CRAIG HARPER
Pioneer/Director/Owner Harpers Gym

Wednesday 6th December
Hilton on the Park
7.15am – 8.55am

“We don't see things as they are;
we see things as we are”

Craig pioneered personal training by accident many years ago and has spearheaded what is now a multi-million dollar industry in Australia.

Motivator, educator, ex-fat kid, radio personality, precocious only child, author, international presenter, TV fitness bloke, high-performance coach, realist, philosopher, teller of crappy jokes, entrepreneur, innovator, business owner, exercise scientist, cheesecake-aholic, wanna-be alpha-male warrior and possibly the world's worst singer; Craig Harper is all of it and more.

In a world where coaches, educators and motivators are hell-bent on convincing you that creating your best life is all about buying into their philosophy, their program and their products, Craig Harper is an anomaly. Craig's not about convincing people that he's the answer to their problems; in fact, he knows he's not.

He teaches that you're the solution (and the problem). He's kind of blunt, challenging, honest, silly, amusing and confronting (periodically offensive) but he knows what works and if you're genuinely ready to change then perhaps you will connect with him.

$55pp or $395 for table of 8.
